Bankroll Basics: 5 Rules Before Your First Bet

Published 2026-10-13

  1. Set a session budget — money you can afford to lose, decided before you start.
  2. Fix your bet size — 1–2% of your budget per round keeps you in the game longer.
  3. Decide your cash-out target in advance — e.g. always 1.50x or 2.00x, and stick to it.
  4. Take breaks — step away after a big win or a losing streak; both distort judgement.
  5. Never chase losses — doubling stakes to "win it back" is how small losses become big ones.

These rules do not change the math of the game. They change how long your entertainment lasts — and that is the whole point.
